Feb. 7: BSA Black History Month Showcase

Baltimore School for the Arts’ Schaefer Ballroom. 712 Cathedral St. 6 p.m. $15

 

Baltimore City’s lauded performing arts high school—ranked among the best in the nation—will be hosting a public performance of the students’ annual Black History Month Showcase on Friday evening. This year’s show, Roots: Connecting with our Ancestors & Culture, will feature student-created works across all disciplines produced in collaboration with the school’s Black Student Union. “When we think of the roots of a plant we think of the foundation of ourselves as individuals and as a people, Black people,” read the show notes. “In this year’s BHM Showcase, we are connecting to our roots, of our culture, our ancestors in how we show up every day.”
